Your Role:

  • You are responsible for delivering exceptional curb to curb service for passengers who are not able to take traditional city transit services
  • You are required to provide proactive assistance to passengers in boarding vehicles, maneuvering wheelchairs, securing belts, lifting portable assistive devices, and offering necessary aid throughout the journey
  • Additionally, providing superior customer service to all passengers and assisting with information on fares, schedules, and stops is a crucial aspect of this role
  • You are responsible for performing basic vehicle inspection to ensure the vehicle is in good working order at the start of your shift
  • Administrative tasks including scheduling, documentation, data entry, and customer inquiries
  • Coordination with dispatch and operational support teams

Requirements


Your Profile:

  • You are a safe driver with a clean driving record
  • You can obtain a clean criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening
  • You are a professional driver with a minimum F class license
  • You have excellent customer service skills
  • You are patient, compassionate, and empathetic
  • You are comfortable working around any type of service animal
  • You are capable of working at a fast pace and keeping up with the physical demands of the role (Pushing, pulling, bending and twisting at a fast pace for 8 to 10 hours)
  • You have intermediate to advanced verbal and written language skills - equivalent to B2 to C1 levels. (A language and math assessment will be a part of the evaluation process)
  • You bring relevant experience from a similar role or have experience assisting individuals with disabilities
  • You have a solid understanding of North Bay’s streets and neighborhoods, with confident navigation skills
  • You have basic technology skills, including the ability to navigate a tablet, upload and fill out documents online, and complete online training classes
  • Computer knowledge and administrative skills (email, scheduling systems, data entry, basic office software)

Your schedule:
Driving shifts:

  • Shifts are between Monday-Friday and will be required to work one Saturday every 7-8 weeks
  • Shifts vary: earliest start is 7:00am and the latest finish is approximately 6:00pm
  • Approximately 24 hours/week driving
  • Will work 1-3 shifts per week
  • The para transit service runs 7 days a week including holidays.

Admin shifts:

  • Shifts vary between Monday-Friday between 8:00am-4:30pm
  • 16 hours/week in office

Your location:

  • All shifts will begin and end at, North Bay

Hourly Rate

  • The rate for this position will be $20.00/hour
